How accurate is the Urdu translation?

The translation is made by machine (Google Translate). It is very good for everyday messages, emails and getting the meaning of a text, but it can miss idioms, names and tone. For better results:

  • Write short, complete sentences with correct spelling and punctuation.
  • Check names, numbers and dates in the result.
  • For legal, medical or official documents, ask a professional translator.
  • Text typed with old Urdu fonts such as InPage is not Unicode and looks like random English letters to a translator. Retype it with the Urdu keyboard, which always produces Unicode.

How do I translate English into Urdu?

Open the English translator – it opens with Urdu already chosen as the language to translate into.

Can I hear how the translation sounds?

Yes. Press the speaker button under either box. The voice comes from your device, so the available voices – and whether a language can be read aloud – depend on your phone or computer.

Is my Urdu text saved?

No. We do not store your text. To translate it, your browser sends it to Google Translate, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
